DBSA-Charlotte: Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance
       The Board
The Board of Directors decides important stuff like how we spend our money, which comes mainly from participant donations.

Currently there is a need for new Board of Directors members. Perhaps that's you!

Everybody is welcome.  Contact the email or phone number on the home page if interested.

Social Gatherings

Besides meetings, members meet for movie outings, an annual picnic and holiday parties, and dining out (or just coffee.)
See exciting details below:

    2015 Picnic Beat the Heat

A couple of well-place fans kept  the picnic pavilion at the Marion Diehl Center on Tyvola Road relativley cool during the June heat wave.  It was good to see everybody.  This event continues to be popular.

                                   Monday at the Movies DOA

Anyone interested in reviving this once popular past-time should e-mail chuckdbsa@gmail.com (What it was:Join  DBSA friends for a cheap outing at the movies, $1.25 for groups of three or as a senior citizen. The Cinemark Matthews 10 is located on Independence Blvd. at Sam Newell Road.  After the movie some people stick around and go to nearby Dunkin' Donuts for beverages and/or food. It's been said that DBSA-Charlotte never does anything without food or drink (soft). There are lots of other movies showing about the same time if this isn't your taste. We can all meet and discuss the merits of each over coffee.)
                     Chapters That  Dine Together . . .

. . . ShineTogether
Although attendance has fallen off to nearly nobody, here's what your missing. After each meeting, many of us used to get together at a nearby (budget) restaurant to socialize. Currently those
places are Venue varies in University City for the Monday meeting, The Landmark at Central and Kilborne for the Near Uptown Tuesday meeting (lots of reasonably priced stuff on their huge menu), Applebee's in Ballantyne for the Thursday meeting (half-price appetizers are the favorite orders.
